Events and Activities
New for this year is the updated and expanded Kids Voting USA Classroom Activities! It retains what teachers liked best about the previous materials and the enriched content and variety of themes allows teachers to incorporate civics education throughout the year. In addition to the original Elections section, new sections on Suffrage, Democracy, and Active Citizenship have been added. The activities are fun, interesting, and educational, and they have been
aligned with the North Carolina Standards for Social Studies, Language Arts, and Math so that they are outstanding tools to help teachers meet their teaching goals.
(You can view the alignments in detail by clicking here.)
The Kids Voting USA Classroom Activities materials are available on CDs and in manual format, and also available online at www.kidsvotingusa.org (In the Classroom). For information about how to access the password protected materials online or to order materials in another format, contact Kids Voting-- Guilford County at 336-373-8773 or by email at info@kidsvotingguilford.org.

Hold Voter Registration for students
Consider other ways to celebrate our country's freedom and democracy during the week, such as by using the Wish Tree activity (Classroom Activities K-5); having Red, White, & Blue Day; or planning a special class or school program. Consider a special activity every day; inform KIDS VOTING office for possible media coverage. This is a great time to encourage older students to perform some type of community service.
If age appropriate, consider sending home letter to help students identify correct precinct.
