KIDS VOTING--Guilford County's
High School Student Advisory Board

KIDS VOTING--Guilford County is pleased to announce the establishment of a county-wide Student Advisory group.  The goal is to enhance civic education and promote positive civic behavior in high school students through a variety of fun, educational activities.

Advisory Board members will earn service hours while attending monthly meetings where they will interact with guest speakers, college professors and community leaders.  They will participate in a variety of service projects that may include producing a "Get Out The Vote" video, promoting KIDS VOTING in elementary and middle schools, organizing voter registration in high schools, walking in the Human Race (a walk-a-thon to benefit local non-profits), adopting a KIDS VOTING precinct on Election Day, and assisting with other KIDS VOTING events.

Two $500 scholarships will be awarded to students who demonstrate outstanding commitment to KIDS VOTING and the Student Advisory.

Any high school student who lives or attends school in Guilford County is eligible to apply.
